port help for XXX 12

so im not all that knowledgable about building vented boxes, and i need a bit of help.

im buying a 12 inch new style XXX, and RE reccomends 2.2@ 34hz. i need help finding the opening area and the length of the port. hopefully this will be the last box i make for years, and i wanna do it right

use re audio's box calc, and make sure you get at least 30^2 inches of port area to avoid port noise. port area is determined by width of port opening in inches x height of port opening in inches.

^x2...2.2 cubes sounds good and 34 wouldnt be bad, tuned a bit lower wouldnt hurt I'd think and like said above, 30 sq inches would be the minimum port area Id use...32-35 sq inches of port area would be a pretty safe bet

Yeah i called re, they reccomended 33 in square by 30 long
