port forwarding???

im reading this guide, and it says that you need to check the manufacturers web page to find their ports that you want to forward to online...If im simply downloading torrents in Bitlord, where do i go to find the ports i need to forward to?

Just find which ports bitlord uses and forward those...

In the preferences in bitlord it should have some kind of "connection options." In there it should have a port for you to choose, usually it's best to pick a higher up non-common port for bittorrent. Then, you go into your routers setup page and go to port fowarding and set xxxx-xxxx port to be fowarded to the IP of your machine.

i just went through all of the steps. My bitlord transfer rate actually decreased from what it usually is.

are you getting this port number in the bitlord preferences? im using in bitlord..a listen port of 17054...where do i wanna go to find the correct port number?

doesnt really matter the port, so long as its nto being used by anything else. so just use port 65005 and u should be fine. and yes on bitlord im talkinga bout the listening port. depending on what router you have, will depend on what settings u change on your router. me, i use a linksys.
