So I would like to hear the opinions on peoples ideas between a square (what I call slot port) compared to a round ( pvc, Areo ) etc. I have been debating on having a box rebuild and am trying do decide if I want to keep a slot port or if I should do an areo etc. Pro's Con's benefits etc. Any and all info is great thanks!!!

Btw if this is a repost I do appologize I haven't searched for it. I figured its easier for me to do this because I'm on a ps3 and the search takes at least 5 min to find anything. Usually the ps3 doesn't find anything either so...

aero id say...but then again i love slot...this is kinda how each of these threads go. no1 ever meets on anything...its always a huge fight over them and u never get a decent answer. id say give aeros a try

hmmm sum one send me an amp I'll test it. XD I need an amp to run my xxx 15. That would be a perfect example for this. Lots of excursion. But yeah...

test a 4 inch a 6 inch and an 8 inch areo. then do a slot. I have the slot already. 4.3 cubes at 32 htz..... but yeah. I'd love to test this theory.

yeah I want to try that too. never done a kerfed angle. the box I have currently for the xxx was a 45 on the bottom side and I did a 45 to go between the port. so if anyone is willing to help test this it would be awesome

aeros are never permanent. If you don't like the tuning freq. it's easily changeable. If you want a larger port, cut a bigger hole and throw a new one in there. But aeros are more expensive

It depends on the vehicle.. if your in a truck slot is definately louder. Subs forward slot port all the way accross the back. router the edges smooth on the slot.. should give you another DB...

You could try to make the port longer, but there might be other reasons with the box won't extend lower, or even the sub. You'd have to reverse...

While that program is pretty neat, it assumes you know the values. I was just recapping the numbers you provided. RS recommends the following...

Whoa, that will be one skinny port. The width of the back wall ports will be 1.08" wide (27.5mm), but the front port will be shared by 2 subs so...
