port bending

can someone clear this up for me? I my port is 2.75 wide, 15.5, and 25.75 long and i decide to bend it all i do is add 1/2 of the width to the length so the port would be 27.125 inches long? i searched the forum but never could find a clear answer. thanks.

when u bend the port it becomes longer

because u add half the width to the length as it enters the bend, and then again as it leaves the bend

Notice in the corner the length goes past both inside walls?

does the 1/2 the width that is added make up for the length lost in the bend? or do you not really add any thing to the port lenght, only if you are finding end correlation?

Your replies are afully confusing.When a port bends you add half the width of the port, and then half again like seen above.

i was going to use the straight port that was on the kicker manual but the box i was going to put it in was to short. so in order to fit the port i need to bend it. if i bend it according to what kicker says will that change the tuning? does the physical length of the port actually change?

As long as the airspace inside the box is still the same, and you account for the bend no there won't be any change.

what do you mean by account for the bend? isn't adding 1/2 the width to the physical lenght of the port (l1 and l2) accounting for the bend? so all i do bend the port and keep it the same lenght and volume as the straight one?

By accounting I mean adding half the width on each side so you don't make it too long or too short.

well i figured it out. no thanks to the kicker website. that explination is either wrong or very confusing. i don't need to use moe lesters box, even though i had no idea that he had all of those plans posted there, which is cool. thanks for the sarcasm mountaineer man im not stupid just confused by stupid people.
