Port and sub firing direction

So I plan on rebuilding my sub box for my GTO. I found somewhat of an idea of what I want to do but not sure how to have the sub and port firing. I can have the sub fire facing up or down and the port either firing rear or forward. Which would work better?

Here is what I am looking at doing, no 6x9's though only a 10" Massive Audio sub.

The sub will sit more to the right looking at it from back to front, with the Xtant amp mounted to the left. The box will not be as short on the sides to be able to mount the amp.

if its in the cabin can u fire in the cabin and seal it? im trying to picture it if its an IB style or just a box in the shelf and port fire into the back window
Its just a ported box in the shelf. Right now I have it where the sub is firing down with the port facing the rear seat. Just going to change the box since I got a different amp. I don't know shit about IB
