popping???

win I play my sub loud(mach5 maw-12) the sub makes a popping soundwin it reaches full excursion what is the deal.

is the voice coil hitting the back plate.

do not overdrive a subwoofer.

xmax is xmax.. if you go beyond that, then EXPECT ****ED UP NASTY SOUNDING SHIT.

if you want more output, add another sub but DO NOT GO BEYOND XMAX EVER

i agree with you bees, but that wouldn't necessarily describe his "popping sound".

Is the Mach 5 not bottomless? Meaning the VC can hit the former when you exceed the power limit of the sub. Cause that would of course cause a popping sound.

yes.. while I think the mach 5 12 is an extremely kickass driver for the price.. its not extremely abuse tolerant.. and the coil has no problem fully engaging the backplate...

dood are you serious? you are hurting your sub when you play it like that and it makes popping.

I have also had this problem and posted about it before. Try a ground loop on it or u could change boxes i changed boxes. So it must have quit or i just cant hear it anymore.
