popping my cherry !!! hippo 122

27hz tuning wont get you there. You want it to peak at 35 to 45hz since that is a lot easier to achieve that feeling than playing too low. 32 to 36 hz box is fine for that. CSCstang will design you a proper box.
Was waiting for someone to say 27 was too low. Tune it at 36hz

Keep in mind the lower the port is tuned the longer it needs to be. You may need to adjust the net enclosure volume a bit larger for a 27 Hz tune as opposed to mid 30s as the port will take away volume. I have a 2001 SL2 and my enclosure is 3 cubes net, 2 cubes gross with a slot port tuned to 36 Hz. It's facing into the cabin and pushed up against the back seat pass-through opening. I doubt I could have fit a larger enclosure without making it a 2 piece clamshell design that bolts together inside the trunk. I put most of my equipment in the spare tire well and currently the trunk is useless for hauling anything. My point is you will not be doing 2 Hippo 12s in this car without an extreme box build taking up essentially the entire trunk.
I went with a forward facing enclosure because nothing I have done has eliminated trunk rattles, and I've tried a few things. A rattling trunk drives me insane. I'm sure you have noticed these cars tend to rattle and vibrate a lot even without the aid of a sound system.
They sure do rattle like crazy and nations built my alt 160 was the biggest I could go ?

I have Cscstang building me a box at 32hz.. Why 36hz? He hasn't started yet so why 36 over 32?
Generally speaking, tuning in the low 30s is a sound quality thing so the response has less of a sharp knee. Music created with real instruments that most people enjoy does not often have any information below 30 Hz. Tuning at 36 Hz vs 32 Hz may make the box sound louder and meter higher on the same music with the same subwoofer and the same amount of power, yet the box+sub should still play into the 20s.

I'm looking for bass I can feel. That makes it hard to breathe when playing. I want to set car alarms off. I heard the higher the hz the louder and lower hz is more "feel"
