i thought pop was just a michigan/ohio/indiana thing. everybody that i talk to outside of those states look at me funny when i call it pop

I have family in Detroit, and they call it pop. Sounds so funny to me. He, we call sodas "drinks" or should I say "dranks". Sounds funny, but is very common go figure. I think that would qualify as a other lol.

Up here "drinks" refer to alcohol. Unless you say "I'm going to have a drink of water, pop, milk, etc."

I have heard that before, quite a few times. Its just wierd that things so common to me would be so different to someone else in another part of the US, and vice versa.

Diversity at its finest I guess, lol.....

I always used to say POP, but now since moving to Cincinnati it has become Soda or Coke.

Coke is weird because I always think of something else. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

And drink is usually alcohol based up here.
