I recently blew the left front door speaker in a 1996 pontiac grand am gt If you know can you tell me how the door panels come off and how to take the 6x9s out on back seat thanks alot

Buy a Haynes manual, it will explain it in detail. Handy book to have for other things, also.

if the 1996 are like the 2001 the back 6x9 are a ****ing ***** but the front is easy just a couple of screws and wires to be unlpuged and the it should pull right off

You are going to have to take out the side panels and unbolt the rear back seat, just to lift up the rear deck panel and get to the 6x9s. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Ok well i may not run rears then, and you say the door panels are easy to get off ill probly just replace them, and not the 6x9s

Did you put some aftermarket 6.5" speakers in the doors? Stock size is 4x6, I have a 97 GAGT and it took some work to put in some 5.25" coaxials. PM and I'll walk you through getting the door panel off if you still haven't got it, it is very simple.

I havent done anything yet i thought the ones in the doors were 6.5s. ygpm

all i have to say on GM cars is that most of them come apart the same.... look for screws all around the door bottom sides everything and there will be a goldstar bolt under the handle (might be phillips)(it varies) and then the rest is just those gay little clips... dont be afraid to pull hard to get them off unless u pull on them really hard at a goofy angle chances are ure not going to break them...and if u do u can pick them up at any auto zone.... and if u have crank windows ure going to need a Hook to pull put a pin to get the handle off that part is a ***** trust me i have taken apart many a door panel... as far as the 6X9s that is going to be a dedicated day proj to take apart the backseat/backdash...

hey man i had a 96 grand am gt which i put alot of time into //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif... the front speakers are 5 1/4 i believe but i flush mounted 6 1/2 s in the door and yes the rear 6x9s are a *****h to get at, u can get them our without taking our ur rear seats but u gotta be real careful or else ur gonna crack ur rear deck lid, ... I d think the best way to do it would be to remove ur rear seats and pry the rear deck lid up and pulll the 6x9 s out .. its tough .. pm me if u have any questions

Ok well right now im in process of getting door panels off, ii have them unclippsed and evreything all at bottom and sides but at the top is where i cannot get it unclipped so anyone knoe how once iget sides and bottom undone how i slide the top out to take panel off i have evreything else off.
