Polyfill Question

i dont about makin it act as a bigger box but i know you can put polyfil is it. Just put some chicken wire inside the box so it doesnt come flyin out the box when you sub hits

I used to put house insulation in my ported enclosures. Id layer it into 1" thick strips and stapled it to the interior walls. Did the same thing as polyfill.

That is what I was suggesting //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

if you are trying polyfil to make a sub go lower or sound louder then it is wasted in most cases. if you were going to use it to obsorb (SP? I just got up) reflected or standing waves then by all means throw a 1" layer in there. It is a lot easier to put a little damping material on the back wall of the enclosure though and does the same thing.

O and another question....... since polyfill "tricks" the subwoofer into a bigger box then it actually is........ Does that interfier with the tuneing freq.... would i have to tune it to how big the box is..... or how big the subwoofer thinks the box is???
