Polyfill a NoNo

It doesn't dissipate heat... It absorbs vibrational energy (read: rear sound wave produced by the speaker). It actually transforms some of the vibrational energy INTO heat. Basically it does the exact opposite of what you said.
And there is a difference between the stuff you buy at wal mart and the stuff sold at parts express - the stuff sold by parts express is denser and better suited to its purpose.

Acoustic Insulation - explanation
Lulz. Got my terminology mixed up.

I yanked the stock sub out, Then i went into every box and epoxyd every box seam I could find to make sure its airtight cause sometimes those prefab enclosures you can never trust, then i DID stuff the box with a 1 pd bag of polyfill and it made a noticible difference, im pretty impressed with it.

The stock sound system is fine for me, I drive a modded SRT4 so I dont want to weigh my car down with car audio stuff thats low on the priority list so i figured ide just maximize what i have
