Poly Fill work?

I have poly fill but no dynamat or similar products. I am putting in some comps in my sisters car and there is no deadening in the door, I thought I'd stuff in some poly fill around in the door near the speaker cavity for good measure. Good or bad idea?

Bad idea if you get any moisture in that door. The polyfill will get all moldy and start to stink to high heaven. I used some in my car to dampen vibrations between the rear parcel shelf and the frame. It worked well for but that is a dry place.

Thanks, the doors seem to be pretty dry, but I would worry about it then.

Polyfill doesn't do quite the same thing deadener does...the point of sound deadening is to mass load the surface by simply adding weight to the panel - reducing its tendency to vibrate and lowering its resonant frequency.
