XM or Sirius, and why

For me, XM. It's all personal pref. If you like the particular sport that one or the other carries, then its a no brainer. I think that XM has a better variety of music. Depending on the station, there is NO DJ chatter at all. The XM comedy channels are better. I think Stern is an idiot.

I enjoy Sirius... we have Sirius in the install bay and XM on the sales floor...
In my mind, if you like to hear popular songs more, then XM is the way to go. They pick songs that everyone likes and plays the crap outta them. I swear if I hear that Panic at the Disco song one more god damn time, I'm gonna maim someone.

On the other hand, Sirius tends to have a wider variety of music that they don't repeat as often every day. However, the downside of Sirius is that it seems like they have a 24-hour playlist that they repeat every day, just scrambled. You only hear each song once a day, but you hear it every day.

So in my mind, Sirius is the lesser of two evils because I'd rather have more variety in one day then hear the same songs every day over and over.
i agree with about 90% of what you said.

i used to work at circuit city and noticed quickly that the main difference was XM had more music overall and sirius had more sports/talk. I also noticed that the music channels that sirius had were on a month long loop, working 8hr days i heard the same loopp about 6-8 times through. XM is this way as well, just on fewer channels.

i disagree with sirius playing a larger variety that XM though, from what i heard it was actually about equal. This could be largly dependant on which channels were selected so i'm just gonna say lets call it a draw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif .

To Thieroff:

it does seem like jmanpc and i agree though:

XM = more music

Sirius = more talk/sports

If you listen to the pop/top 40 stations you get what you deserve. That's just the same as listening to regular radio. What's the point of paying for that? If, however, you listen to the genre specific stations, the variety is much better. I've listened all day to the same specialty station without hearing the same song twice. I also don't have to put up with crap that I can't stand (read "top 40/pop"). If I'm in the mood for rock, I have 14 channels to choose from. 6 for country. 6 for r&b/rap. 4 comedy. and so on.
