Well i've been thinking a little to much about which way I should go. Here are 2 options and my thoughts on both.

Amp is a pa a2400db

1800rms@1ohm

1400rms@2ohm

They test these at 16v and from what i've researched it'll do 1400~@1ohm and prob 900~@2 @ 14v

Option 1: 2 18" w6's which are 500rms each in a sealed to spec box. Final load to amp would be about 2ohm's with box rise.

Option 2: 3 12" type r's in a sealed to spec box. I'd wire them down to .67 ohm's and with rise would be a hair over 1ohm final load. I ran this exact setup a year and a half ago on the same amp and it sounded fantastic. Only diff is I was using a loc w/ the factory stereo. I now have cadence comps (2 sets) and a 3200dvd.

Both setups would have to be plopped in the backseat(coupe). Ghetto but I never use it and am never satisfied with trunk setups.

I already have the 3 12" box but would have to buy 1 more R. No big deal. (sold the 3rd when I needed money)

For the 18's I'd have to make a box, carpet it ect. But i'm not to positive i'd like the 18's on my current amp at 2~ohms.I don't want to buy another amp.

Money wise it would cost the same for both...70~ for box, carpet ect and 65~ for the extra R.

I \like the 12s set up better, due to the air space needed for the pair of 18s,I feel like the 12s will perform much better.Yet, Hell what do I know?I had 1 18 1200rms sub in my truck, and put 4 tens in, and loven the tens set up much better.Just my 0.02 cents:D

Porting isn't going to happen Murph, i'm strictly a sealed box kind of guy. Which is kind of retarded cause all I listen to is hip hop.

Ok, I just dug the triple r box out and it appears a cat had it as a home. Said cat also liked to sleep on **** soaked mdf/polyfill //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

So it's safe to say that box is garbage.

Well I have a guy lined up to get my 18's as of last night. He wants to trade 2 12" fosgate t1's and a couple hundred bucks. It's prob one of the better deals i've been offered. Not sure if I want to do it though.

The t1's and the r's are pretty much on the same level, t1's edging them out from what i've read. Ima be dun some research.

i would go with the 18s...... and i would probly expect 1600 @ 1 ohm from that amp. those amps are gold compared to the other PA amps.
1600? Let's meet in the middle @ 1500. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That series is one of very few pa amps that I don't mind running. I had to stop myself Friday from buying a 3000db on ebay. I just don't want to invest that much into my electrical right now.

well 2 18s is alot more cone area. And you fail for not just doing **** the right way and porting the box. It would be much louder. Granted you wont be able to do 2 18s anymore because you would require more box but should be much louder if you did port it

I barely have the means to build a sealed box let alone a big poted box.

If you are truly a sealed guy assuming you are looking for SQ. You cant beat the SQ of the w6's nor can you beat the sealed box space they ask for. Basically they ask for anything sealed from 1.7 to 1.9 which would work great in a trunk. They dont ask for the mega watts alot of the subs ask for today, but if you are looking for a true SQ sub, even though they are old would be hard to beat.

I hear ya. I wouldn't consider myself a sq type of guy, just a guy that doesn't like seemingly uncontrolled bass response. Atleast that's how all the ported setups I've heard sound like.

Rabbit designed me a box, sealed to spec w/ a double baffle that should get the job done if/when I can get a fu cking sheet to my house. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

ok 1500 lol. i considered getting the 3000db at one time but didnt. but i think i should have. and on electrical. hell i dont have

a big 3 done or anything. i just run a couple batts and my voltage stays about 13.3 full tilt for the most part with the music i listen

to. but for example the song white girl by young jezzy(i dont listen to it alot. only time really is during a demo) drops my voltage to about 12.2 - 12.4v.
