Poll: 4000w or 7000w Amplifier purchasing POLL

How important is having or not having strapping capabilities on a 4000w or 7000w amplifier effect your decision to buy either amplifier?

This is not a question for me or anyone specifically. Just an information gathering poll. Thanks guys.

you don't HAVE to strap them to in order to run 2. you could always very carefully match the gain and run 1 per voice coil. hell even 4 amps on a quad voice coil amp as long as you carefully match the gains on tones.

you can also get a maxxlink and that unit will strap up to 5 pairs of any non strap able amp.

for someone doing 155's i'm curious why you would ask this. are you not familiar with ways to get around strapping or are you just seeing what the average joe wants in a 4kw to 7kw amp..?as it's a very common purchase....

I'm aware how to run multiple amps without strapping. This is a general information gathering question about would an amplifier of this size having strapping capabilities or not effect someones decision on the purchase of that amplifier. Thanks though.

Back in the day when we were competing........strapping feature was almost a must. Now that I quit competing, I could care less.

Both are large amps, and in your aplication I would say for Db Drag street purposes I would be looking for a strappable pair. For daily either would be just fine.

a maxxlink is the way to go. from my experience even when i had amps that were strappable i could get the ac output voltage from amps closer matched using the maxxlink.
