I got a new scanner from radio shack and i want to know the code to get the police only theres a police and fire but i want just police i heard you can do it does anyone know my model # is

Hopefully you got a serial cable, makes it tons easier to put everything in, and also hope that your area isn't digital or analog trunked or you'll have a hard time getting anything going.

You won't pick up much in boston with that scanner. That scanner is a vhf/uhf scanner where boston police, fire and any other city services use an analog 800mhz LTR system. you should find those cheap on ebay cause alot of the cities around the country went to digital systems and a regular 800 scanner won't pick anything up.
