The Dynasty Continues...
Well, I have been playing online poker now for a good month. Most of the time I do well winning hands and taking opponents out in cash games. Well then i have my bad days where i lost a 100 or so. Now I am in the process of making it all back.

I started with 5 bucks and im up to 200 now. Well the problem is i cant stop myself from playing. When I get home thats what i do. When I am not doing it i am thinking about winning more money.

I cant stop playing, does anyone else seem to have this problem?

well you ahve done the 1st step, by admitting you ahve a problem...lol just remember, lose only what you can afford, AFTER your bills and family are paid and taken care of....dont be white trash. and i'm not calling you white trash or any kind of trash. dont want to get into a e-war.

my problem is i dont set limts, if i lose real big i can make up for it after a while, it happens every time. I am winning its just when i lose, i lose big. I am only 18 so no bills besides gas, cell, and insurance.

Its just treating me good

dont feel bad I play every night for a few hrs. Only problem i cant play for cash right now with the problems i had with bank account getting hacked. I play at full tilt poker i tried the other ones but i like this one so far. Maybe we can play :0) we can fight our problems.

thats were we are diffrent now i can go to the casino and drop 500 with no problem but i have all the bills and a daughter and gf i support lol.

I have never played cash games online (I play cash games at home, I won $45 today) but I do play Party Poker for free every night and enjoy it. I think I am going to try to play with real money sometime. I dont know what to say about your addiction. Try uninstalling it for a day and not even thinking of playing it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I usually play 20 hours a week of poker probably, but i have spare time (i get outta work at midnight, and dont sleep till 5-6 so what else is there to do) and i usually play low limit, and small buy in tourneys (10 and under) just to build up a bank roll. I took a week off, no poker at all, and have played ALOT better....cashed in almost every tourney i have played in the past few days.

I play at ultimate bet, i LOVE the software and set up there, far better then some of the other sites out there

There was an episode of Dr Phil which covered this topic not too long ago..

I say-

You could die at ANY moment, 5 years, 5 days, 5 seconds. Live like theres no tomorrow. Beg, borrow, steal what ever it takes, you will eventually master the game and become rich beyond your wildest dreams, its just a matter of time.

Start slow betting a few hundred here and there to get some practice, have some fun with it, then start with bigger bets as time goes on. Sure there will be some little itty bitty losses here and there, but the big pay off has just gotta happen if you remain vigilant.

Don't let people hold you back if your girlfriend or family starts complaining that you are spending too much time and money on internet poker tell them to piss off!, don't let ANYTHING stand in your way-

Not sleep

Not food

Not nagging family friends or biches

Not even money

YOUR IN CONTROL, YOU CAN HANDLE IT, YOU CAN'T LOSE!

Seriously, the fact that you even question it shows that you yourself have regrets about gambling.

Logically a person refrains from repeating an action he or she regrets.

the only cases where the regrettable behavior is repeated is-

- Obsessive compulsive disorder.

- Those without choice.

- The mentally retarded or chemically incapacitated.

- People whit a/an chemical/emotional dependency or addiction.

No pat on the back here, just cold truth. I have lost several friends to gambling and drug addiction.
