Hey guess here's what I'm facing.
I bought a Fi BL 12" dual 2ohm sub and when I got it one of the terminals on the sub was loose.. like the plastic part broke... so I went to my local car audio store and asked them if I should send it in for repair they told me superglue would work fine... So I used some expensive a$$ super glue and it seemed to work fine... for a while.
I was listening to my music just cruisin around town and all the sudden it wasnt nearly as loud and kinda sounded like it was almost missing note.... so i pulled over and went back there felt the sub and it was really warm... I instantly pressed pause on my cd player, unplugged the rcas to my amp and the speaker wire going to the sub.
I just pulled the sub out and it smelt burnt... obviously not good. I looked at the terminal that use to be loose and it was noticably looser then before I first glued it. I could see that the terminal had gotten loose enough to touch the metal bracket and I could see the spot where it grounded out... One of the spider wires ( I believe its called that, the wire from the terminal going into the sub) had seperated from the terminal.
Is there any test I can do that will tell me if the sub is blown or if i just need to replace the terminal? It is probably wishfull thinking but I am hoping that the spider wire popped off before it hit my sub.
let me know what you think any input is a great help
thanks guys
