Plexiglass pricing

yes, unless you come across a good deal on ebay:up2somet:

I believe i was priced $480 for a 4x8 sheet of 3/8, and that was the cost the company could get it for where i work. So yea, the price is up there. I got two pretty good size scrap pieces off ebay for like 30 bucks shipped or something like that.

I said no to Plexi because of the price

Acrylic (Plexiglas) is much easier to work with than Polycarbonate (Lexan) and much cheaper. You can buff scratches out of Plexi but if you scratch Lexan, and it's not hard to do, the piece is ruined. You wouldn't want to do a sheet that big unsupported anyway, with either material. The flex would be huge regardless of thickness. You could go with multiple windows using smaller 3/4" pieces it would come out much cheaper, and smaller pieces are easier to find on eBay. You don't need the 1" because the smaller panel won't flex as much.
