please, idiot guide to adding sub to aftermarket system

hey everyone i just got a old 83 bmw with a aftermarket deck and rear speakers and i have a sub and 750.1 hifonics amp but ive never installed any car audio in my life so i was wondering if somone could give me a real simple guide on how to add the sub and amp to the existing system and what i need to buy and then how to install it, i have the sub box and amp, what guage wiring do i need? what kind of fuse? thanks.

use 4 guage wire to hook up the amp...the sub is connected to the amp through the speaker outs on the amp...the amp is connected to the HU through RCA plugs...the RCA ports can be found on the amp and on the back of the HU...

um...can you give more information like the type of sub(althought it wont really matter too much)...

its a DVC sub but i know how to wire it for the right resistance, do i need to use a certain guage wire to go from the amp to the sub? and would i be better off putting the amp under the seat so that the wiring is short from the amp to the battery or should i put the amp in the trunk so the wiring is short from the amp to the sub? thanks

depends on the sub wattage...you can use a 8guage from amp to sub

i would put it close to the sub...but it can go under the seat...in 12volt.com there is a chart that shows wiring guages for different distances...

^^^has info about wiring guages...if you want to put the amp uder the seat...

but i would just put it under the seat to hide it
