I had a guy build a custom box and I put two skar audio evl 10's in it. I got the big 3 done and I also got a skar audio 2000w rms amp. I have it all hooked up at 1 ohm and the amp is 1ohm stable at 2k watts. But when I play it I have the gain set at a little over half way and it barely sounds like it's playing at all. Any ideas as to what is going wrong?

As a disclaimer im not the best person to ask. But this will give you something to do while your waiting for the big boys to answer. Is the sub moving, alot. But the sound is less that what it should be for how high its moving? Have you ran a volt meter to the output of the amp to see if its even getting enough power. Whats the wattage of the subs vs the amp?

Oh and what freq did you set your amp to? Anything more or less then 80-120 hz might sound less audible especially if your hpf on your mids and highs dont match

On my RP 2000 I had to set the gain pretty high to get it moving, I also have a 2 volt HU.

Do you have an up front voltmeter, if not I fully recommend one as you can pull tons of power with that amp.

The gain is used to match head unit voltage. What hu do you have? You might have one sub wired opposite of the other so they are cancelling out. Are they moving but not making noise?
