i'm running an older 2200e audiobahn amp that pushes 560x1 at 2ohms to my Alpine Type R 12" DVC sub. Everything has been working fine. I'm running an 8 gauge power cable with two 30amp fuses (not tubes but the ones that you can find in your fuse box)in parallel. I needed to extend my power cable about 4 ft, so i bought 4 ft of 8 gauge power cable, and use an old inline fuse (30 amps -- the tube style fuse) and use that to connect the two pieces of power cable together. Well, the other day the fuse blew. I went to radioshack and bought a new fuse. 30amps/32volts. Since the day i blew the fuse, it seems as though my amp can still draw the 560watts, but it doesn't deliever the power to my sub. The amp has a small led light, and usually, at high volumes, the light dims dramatically (volumes such as 25 on my alpine 7893 HU, 35 max). Now, at volumes such as 10, the light is already dimming just as much, yet the sub is perfectly fine. I doubt i blew the sub because the sub handles up to 1000 but is rated at 300rms i believe. What do you think happened? I've always hated this amp but its just i got a good deal on it. I'm looking at getting an Alpine V12 Mono 900watt amp and picking up another Type R 12 if the audiobahn amp is screwed.
