pitbull attack...

I have had 2 German Shepherds, and I can tell you the difference between them, and Pitts. German Shepherds are VERY protective dogs. Mine would never hurt me. Period. I would like to see a statistic showing how many German Shepherds have bit their owners? My dog will scare the ever loving shit out of you if you come in our house, they are very weary, and skeptical of new people.
Now for the person saying German Shepherds bite more people than any other breed in the USA, I believe it. That being said, there is a good reason behind it. They are one of the most popular dogs in the united states, and happen to be one of the more agressive ones. Simple math would show that they are more likely to bite someone, because there are more of them around.

Pitt bulls are stupid dogs, and are too big for their own good anymore. They are a bigger cousin of the Staffordshire Terrier. There are Pitts that are now over 120lbs. The Staffordshire Terrier was around 50lbs, and do you know what they were bred for? Bull Baiting. The dog was bred to fight 2000 lb bulls that people pissed off so much to get entertainment out of it... This is not an owner issue, it is an instinct issue. This dog is bred to not fear things much larger than itself. Nobody sees a problem with gangsters now selectively breeding a dog that has no fear to be in excess of 100lbs?

Could you imagine a 100lb chihuaha (spelling?) Stupid little dogs that are insanely agressive. Would you say it was an owners issue when they bit everyone around. I know you can work some dog whisperer shit on them, but most of them are nippy little dogs, that are very possesive of one person.

Moral of the story, some dogs weren't meant to be that big. They are now being bred to be muscular, and huge for no other reason than to look cool. Well it may look cool, but that little bite is now turning into your face being ripped off.
correct only on one aspect, they are bred to have no fear of animals (of any size), animal agression is instinctive. Animal agression, not human aggression, its people like you that promote this ignorant propoganda. German Sheppards (a cow herding dog) were "bred" and utilized by hitler and the third richt to terrorize and brutalize thousands of "people".

lmao.

Now German Shepherds are Nazis? Look up some videos of what German Shepherds were bred for. Oh, and fyi those "third richt terrorism dogs" are over in the middle east sniffing mines, and bombs out so our soldiers don't get blown up. So **** my balls.

and an apbt is not a good guard dog, was never ment to be. only good thing about them as a guard dog is they are intimidating. if there is a pit in the front yard, chances are most people wont open the gate. but if the dog knows the person they can walk right in.

doberman is a far better guard dog than a pit

the point , retard , was that any dog can be trained to do anything and your knowledge regarding APBT is futile at best. You and your ignorant "opinions" are the reason these dogs are scrutinized more than any other. Im sure , nazi , racist dogs, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif almost as ingorant as saying all "pits" are stupid. When really its just ignorant owners like you who dont even realize that their german shepard hasnt be socialized properly, you honestly sound like you have a dangerous animal in your own house and either dont know or dont care, one of the two.

but i did read this

"Pit bulls were not bred to fight humans. On the contrary: a dog that went after spectators, or its handler, or the trainer, or any of the other people involved in making a dogfighting dog a good dogfighter was usually put down. (The rule in the pit-bull world was "Man-eaters die.")

It's not just some random un-informed opinion. There is a reason they are being banned like it or not. Google "what were pittbulls bred for", and tell me how many sites come up not saying to fight/kill? There are a couple that say they were bred to be farm dogs, and work dogs, but this isn't true anymore. How many farmers are keeping pittbulls around?

The dog is owned by 1/2 people who just like them, and the other 1/2 are breeding them to be mean, ugly, huge, fighting dogs. With that being the case you cannot help that the Genes of the fighting dogs are getting into the dogs people are trying to make good family pets. Don't tell me that people are not selectively breeding the most agressive dogs to fight either.

"pit bulls were originally bred for dog fighting and bull and bear baiting."i didnt read "bred to kill" in there
So you think the dogs shook hands after the fight? No, one was dead.

Of course they weren't bred to fight humans, but that doesn't mean they aren't so agressive that they wouldn't try to bite them. It sounds like if one bit someone they just killed it.

I just gotta laugh at idiots calling other people idiots. "Research" does not an expert make. When and only when some one has a decent amount of experience breeding animals for the pit will they know what makes up the nature of a pit animal.

Some one having a family member attacked by a breed then doesn't like that breed is less of an idiot than someone who spouts off as an expert but doesn't know shit.

i understand where you are coming from, but its the people, not the dogs. pits get a bad rep because of the media and the stupid *** people that teach/encourage these dogs to be aggressive toward people. the media is largly at fault. "poodle attacks child" is not good news but it happens every day.
