For anyone of you who own pioneer tsw304DVC's a little advice on enclosure design if space is not a problem.
Firstly the recommended factory enclosure is waaaaay to small for this sub and the 3" circular vent tuned at 40htz creates alot of annoying vent noise at any frequency amplified below 40 htz.
Now for the new specs....
I currently use CAD ( computer aided design ) to formulate and calculate enclosures and subwoofer output.
The Pioneer tsw304DVC model requires these parameters..
operating volume of 3.5 cuft
vent tuning between 30 - 33 htz
no fiberglass filler.
With these requirements met the sub acheives a free air -3db rolloff at 33 htz and an in car -3db rolloff at 15 htz which means faithful low bass reproduction along with subsonic frequencies too.
A single sub acheives an incredible 105 dBl of SPL output with acoustic output at 95 dBl. That's alot for a 12" sub with an Xmax of only 8.3mm and only 300W Rms.
The sub faithfully reproduces any type of music from rap to dancehall to slows and R&B. Bass output is magnificent
The patented VCCS ( voice coil cooling system ) also does what it supposed to...that is extract heat from the voice coil, so the sub remains cool and plays longer.
So once u have space and enclosure size is not a problem these specs will obtain maximum output from your TSW304DVC. I should know because i have 1 and these are my specs. My friends can't believe it's that speaker playin at the back of my car!!
By the way this single sub has blown away the JBL Power 1000W, JL's 12w3 and the new Pioneer TSW305 & TSW306 both in sonic accuracy and overall output.
The TS-W304DVC is probably one of the best designed and engineered subs pioneer has ever made that lives up to it's name, it just needs the right enclosure
