Which one would you prefer?

Which one can handle what size hard drive - I've been reading the thread on here about the external hard drives and power etc - but can anyone confirm what size it can handle reliable and maybe what company or what model of hard drive to buy to go along with it - I'm looking to do around 160gb.

Thanks for any help ahead of time - I'll be watching for replies - thanks!

the manual for the 6900ub says 250gb MAX but i've heard of people who had problems getting the disc to spin fast enough with just 160 gb.... the guy re-wired it to get the hard drive power from a source other than the usb cable and it worked.

I have the 690UB and will be adding a HD in a couple weeks. A Seagate Go 160GB. It has two USB adapter already, so I just got a power inverter. ONe plug goes to the inverter, the other to the HU.

If the HD you get DOESN'T have 2 USB connections, this is a simple solution.

The one on the right.

So it's fairly simple. I'd suggest getting a 2.5" external HD, just because they're made to handle vibrations/shock, heat, and cold a lot better.
