Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS - No HD or analog radio feature

Hi, thanks for reading this. I have an AVH-X3500BHS that is new to me. I recently installed in my 2005 Ford F150 FX4 and everything seems to work but the HD Radio feature. It doesn't complain about not having a signal, the screen just doesn't do anything. Where it should say AM/FM at the top of the screen it's blank, just empty gray fields and that's it. I confirmed with Crutchfield that it is wired in properly. The only thing I haven't done is connect the long green wire because I'm waiting for a microbypass switch to arrive. I've tried resetting the unit, no change.

Is my unit just bad? Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi, found this on a google search, did you ever figure out the solution? My sister has this same radio with this same issue, everything works except radio. Not even static and no buttons to change bands light up.

I had the same unit and same issue, along with a bad pico fuse. Its now sitting on the work bench until I figure out what to do with it. You have to have a strong signal to get hd radio for sure. Try switching out the antenna possibly? The green wire doesn't make a difference here. Btw, you're better off hooking up a toggle, with one post on the green and the other to ground and switching it on and off to get the video signal. The relay is a pain to work with.

Nope, I never did find the problem, I don't have HD or analog signals. I contacted Pioneer who basically told me I was screwed unless I wanted to send to the closest repair shop that's 200 miles away and have a hole in my dash where there should be a radio until they figure out and fix the issue. It does sound liek you have the exact issue though.
