Pioneer avh-3800 parking bypass

Quick question.. so Pioneer thought it was wise to need a parking wire installed just to change your background theme.. Now since my bypass and my old Pioneer HU is in my other car I can't get to it right now without swapping and all that.. How can I do it at home on my bench just to get the wallpaper installed? In the manual it states it needs to see a ON/OFF from the power side of the parking brake so I assume we are talking 12V here. Being that it's on my bench I connect the parking wire to the + and still nothing happens other then I'm not allowed to view the picture.
