Alright, I found a forum that is basically a bunch of locals really close to where I live.

This guy has a Onkyo TX-DS787 and these floor speakers:

I Took the text from the forum since you have to be a member to look on..

Jensen speakers, I don't know much about them. All I know is they're big.

Very big. =)

My receiver doesn't put out enough power to take full advantage of the 15" woofers in them. Only reason I'm selling. Hell, I drove out to Henrietta to pick them up at 9pm last night. [i live in lancaster]. Well, I went to Holland first to pick up a new 7.1 Receiver.. But it under powers these guys too much :[

Anyway. Specs ;

34" H

17 1/2" W

11" D

3" Cone, and a 5" Cone.

Has a 15" Woofer.

There's like, no model number on it at all.

They're a serial number, but my search results turned up empty. I posted on some major audio forums to help me ID them, still waiting for results. Even the guy that owned them didn't know wtf model they were.

He said they power on fine and run great. He was a nice guy, so if you have problems with them. Let me know. =)

I'll give you your money back and go deliver an *** kicking.

Anyway. I paid $125

Plus a shitload of gas/time

$100 and they're yours.

But please be aware, you probably need some good amp/receiver of some sort to push them.

My 110W isn't enough. So, whatever :p

I can get a little bass from the 15" woofer. But barely any.

If you have an amp or something and want to try them out before you buy, bring it over and be my guest.

Putting 12 AWG wiring on it was my last stand to get them running strong.

But no... :p

They're the ones in the back :p

Took the pics as soon as I brought them up last night at midnight, haha.

Could this be one of those deals you hear about where the owner doesn't know what he owns? Is it worth anything? Or is this just crap and I still don't know anything about home audio lol?

We will most likely be doing trades...So if you were in my shoes and had my stuff (look in sig), what would you trade him for the receiver and/or the floor speakers? All of my equipment is in perfect condition too. Or should I keep my stuff?

I can't tell you what model or specs are, but looks any big 3-way speaker from the 80s in the likes of Cerwin Vega, Pioneer, Sansui, JBL, etc. That usually means very sensitive, boomy midbass, muddy highs, poor off-axis midrange/treble response, and non-existent imaging. I would not pay $100 for them. I would also certainly not buy them to use unless just for a party speaker or PA speaker. But I would maybe trade or buy them just to mess around with, maybe upgrade the drivers and/or crossover, and do some experimenting.

do they look like good cabinets? I mean are prefab's in the home audio world like prefabs in car audio? Also, what about that receiver? What is it worth if we traded? He also has a the xbox is just the standard premium, with Component cables, Optical audio out, 20GB Hard drive. What i told him i had to trade was:

2 ed 12's

4 ed 8's

12" iCON

JBL GTO1201.1

Pioneer DEH-P6900UB

PG RSD6.5cs

PG Ryval Amp V752

What should I trade for his 360, receiver (if good), and floor speakers (if cabinets are alright prefab for home audio)

They are jensens, cs315 I believe. I had some of them, they are cheap and old. Offer 50 for the pair and don't pay more than 75. I bought mine for 100 each when I was like 16. That was over 10 years ago.

hmmm so what about the cabinets, maybe throw some maw 15's or some PE 15" subs in there? Or is it not worth it and should just build my own. I have a sonotube 18" wide by 5' tall in the garage.

But anyone info on the receiver? I know it sold for $1000 back in 2000 i believe. Should I scoop it up. I want to have a nice surround sound for my room but don't want all out like some of you guys. Its only like a 12 X 14 room.

yeah dude i got two sets of floor speakers for our apartment for parties...cost me like $20 a pair....and then $40 for a 5.1 receiver...dont waste too much money on this setup

Alright then i'll forget about those floor speakers and make my own when I get some cash.

So how is this trade my jblgto1201.1 and componant speakers for the onkyo receiver and his xbox 360? and maybe i'll throw in some 8's if he won't do that.

But anyone have any input on the Onkyo TX-DS787 !!
