Try forward firing:) I'm sure with as good as the box looks you probably don't want to build another one.

I built three boxes ruff draft.

first i tried forward fire with ports up and i hated the sound of it. it was also 3 tenths quieter on the dash sealed up however it was a full DB louder windows down.

second was one port ont he driver side facing up and subs facing up. that was the loudest by 2 tenths all around but i thought it looked bad.

what you see now was the third try. second loudest all around and looked the best IMO.

what i wish now is that i tried subs up and ports forward however one large square port up high firing between the seats. maybe some day ill try it. for now though i'm happy as is. I dont compete at all so for a daily truck it is more then loud enough. way over board really since i cant play it on the streets without people getting really pissed off

My second loudest position at the headrest is subs forward, ports to the side. If I flip my box where the sub fires up and the ports still side fire I lose a full dB at the headrest. However, both firing positions do roughly the same score in the kick panel.

what amazes me is the cancelation i get in my truck. Windows down Vs sealed up is a HUGE difference. I know most have a difference but the difference in my truck is VERY drastic. do you have the same issue?

What have you done to prevent flexing with the roof and under the back window?

I lose 2-3 dB when my truck is sealed up, so yeah that's a pretty big difference.

Oh man, my roof is fvcked. I gain an entire dB when somebody lays on it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Listen to this video and you can hear how messed up it is:

My backwall doesn't flex too bad, partly due to me leaving the back window open when I play it.

this was not directed at me but i thought i would answer since we have the same truck.

as you can see in this video my back wall moves ALOT. I have done nothing to prevent it but plan to add a few braces int he gap between the cap and the bed and that should stop alot of it

BUT my roof has almost no flex. it vibrates like mad but makes no noise and does not move in and out much.

if you remove your head liner you will see the cross bars. i pulled three extra braces out of trucks from the junk yards and bolted them up. also the rood does not make great contact with the stock braces so i filled the gaps with great stuff. doing so removed all of the remaining flex.

nice....

here is mine as of right now.... Im debating on throwing in an 18 or two 15's. For the 18 might go with RLP and for the 15's re se's due to my power restrictions but here is my box. Nothing special here gets the job done. Subs Down Port Down. Its roughly 3.2ft^3 @ 30hz. Sounds great!

if you spot a cap your not mistaken!! I had really terrible alternator whine and that actually took care of it!
