I am thinking of doing 1 15" sub (q or rl-p) in my new used truck but I am curious where everyone put the amps and other things. I looked through the "SHOW me them racks" thread and saw mostly cars. The truck is a 2001 S-10. I was highly inspired by that dual 15 setup but I think that is just too much for my tastes.

If you have any pics, please post em.

Which way did you like better??

Although I see it quite a bit, is it really that safe to mount your amps to the box? I don't know if these are your pics or not but it looks nice and the second may very well work if a) it is louder and b) okay to mount the amps like that. I would figure I might do it but put a piece of padding between the top of the sub box and where the amp rack.

Firing up would see like it would limit my sub choices. I am more interested in loud SQ (or SQL on this forum) than hitting some numbers...Although mid/high 40s would be nice.

What size? The thing is I got this jack stand kind of in the way. I was thinking of doing a 15 rl-p on each side and then making a "bridge" across for the amps (there will be three total). I wanted to see a setup like that too but I didn't want to make 10 million threads requesting pics. S-10forum.com had some good ones I wanted to reinvestigate but the forum messed up.

I prefer sealed. Gets plenty loud for me and sounds better IMO. The second is ported so it got a lot louder to a point where it was overbearing. For loud SQ, I think a single 15 sealed is plenty for an extended cab but that's just me. I've never had a problem mounting the amp(s) to the box.
