Due to popular request of people wanting to see the other side of my amps...

you paid that much and they dont even have end panels...

but they are still some sexy looking amplifiers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/omg.gif.05aa02c3095d6ce9338996654eca0863.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/bowdown.gif.b85b23b82970bd22fb6b549c3392f016.gif

oh i live down in san jose, if you are ever in the area maybe i could take a listen to your system whenever you have those amps in. what is gonna be powered by these puppies?
I'll try to have a revamped working setup by Marv's next barbeque or another ECA meet in NorCal.

So far, the two HXA500 MkII five-channels have been powering the left and right side of my system -- vertically biamped for stereo separation.

140 x 2 @ 4 ohm to midrange

140 x 2 @ 4 ohm to tweeter

170 x 2 @ 4 ohm (the fifth channel on each) powering midbass

And the HXA1000Q sends a healthy 600W RMS to my pair of Soundstream EXACT 10"s.

As for the speakers themselves... it's pretty much all in my signature. I will be upgrading soon, after the completion of the amp rack within the next week and a half.

I like the compactness and versatility of Scott Buwalda's Legatia 3" midrange (http://www.hybrid-audio.com) and the cost-performance ratio of the Seas L18RNX.

I refuse to spend an obtuse amount of money on speakers simply because I feel like almost all shortcomings in already-good speakers can be overcome with tuning (xover slope/points, T/A, etc.)

shortcomings?

oh c'mon.. Rainbow Reference speakers aren't that bad! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:laugh:

Okay. Can I borrow $7,000? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Or perhaps your left testicle?

Nah. Just give me your soul. I'll trade it in for a set of Rainbow Ref's.

I'll offer the right testies. The left one is my joy and pride. It's the baby maker. :emb:The right side is a dummy version //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

L18s are nice though. If I didn't already have my lotus references, i'd get them. Heard a pair L18s in a buddy's car and holy jeebus, that thing has output even with less than 100w (8 ohm ftl). Got to the point where I didn't think I would need subwoofers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif.
