They are "fairly" cheap if you buy used motors and just recone them yourself.

Well, I know the sub is ok.
Pretty sure the box was flexing too much and the screws holding the sub in started to come out.

well at least thats good. i was quite surprised when i saw it.

first 1 sub within the first week. system off until i got the new sx in. then within that next week, the other one went.

said it was a slight problem with the adhesive they used or something. not quite that familiar with technical terms for sub parts and how they are put together.

Tonyguy...it was nice to hear another set up considered SQ as I wanted to see how my version of SQ compared to others. Those Hertz speakers are quite articulate and pleasing to listen to. Tweeters were a little brighter than what I'm used to, but not actually bright. Just that my Vifa's are pretty laid back and that's what I'm used to now.

Martin....thanks for the DOA sticker and chasing it down in the field for me after my dumbass left it on the dash with 60mph winds. I'll work up box plans tomorrow as I'm too tired to think tonight.

If we do a meet next year I'll probably wire up the subs at .75ohms strapped just for a burp, but I really just wanted a number for what it does daily.

Thanks again to Tommyk for bringing the TL and helping us noobies. And next time I WILL ask for a listen instead of wandering around in a daze from lack of sleep and driving around corn fields for 2+ hours. I bet my drive took longer than the guy from Madison. LOL

If that was the box with the plywood looking front I did catch it in action for a few seconds and the box was flexing like a mother. Looked like the baffle was gonna fly off. With the grain in the wood it "looked" like the baffle was rippling like the ocean, seriously. Was pretty cool shit. Saw you leaning on it trying to be a "brace" but the DD won that battle //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

How you like the sound of the DD? I've built a few boxes for them, 4-4.5 cubes tuned to 35Hz and I think they sound pretty good on music and can get **** loud in a daily set up.

I was the guy in the Camry! 1 BTL (with the box by Belunt lol) and a T20001 at 2ohm. 140.3 @ 28 hz. I was a little disappointed with the score but wasnt expecting too much more since I wasn't getting full power and tuned low. My boy Will had the Sebring with the other BTL thats in the picture. Yes his box was too small. It was an old prefab that I had laying around. I threw all of his stuff in yesterday RIGHT before work so I didn't get a chance to do any tweaking before the meet. The amp (IgnoreMe) was a kx2500.1 at 4ohms. Yes we should have switched amps but its a story behind that. He did a 139.? with it like that so we still have some work to do.
