Pretty pathetic response to a highly inflammatory topic. It's amazing that the thread is full of high fives for a stupid stunt that was pulled off without the individual receiving physical harm. If this had turned out to be a "Deerhunter was murdered for just having fun thread" it would be a tragedy in itself. I guess if MTV can have a hit in the show and movie Jackass, you all who are in agreement with this pathetic joke can have a hit with a blackface thread. Any person regardless of color can be a racist. I'm glad no harm came to this individual because I know a few areas where he would have made the news as a casualty.
This country has had slaves both white and black, with the majority being African. Both BLACKS and WHITES fought to end slavery. Yes, both blacks and whites will say something really stupid(hence your entire response). I would think your suspension early in life would have opened your eyes to ethnic and cultural sensitivity. It's so easy to be a keyboard warrior, so easy to claim to be self made and raising yourself up by the bootstraps over a computer---but the truth is always revealed in the message you type out. I thank God every day that I've been blessed enough to comprehend, understand and appreciate the contribution all races make. As I go to sleep tonight I'll once again thank him for ensuring you aren't my neighbor(but by the sounds of it, you couldn't afford the housing cost--yes this was a dig I'll pray for forgiveness on it).
Yes, I wear my head clean shaven and I've been called Mr Clean--was I offended--no it's just a commercial selling point and the character just happened to have a bald head.
When I see a victim get wheeled into the ER for stupidity such as this--I just shake my head, provide the best care possible and hope they learn from it. I often tell the police "Yes, this person is a victim of their own stupidity. Do they deserve to die, NO. I think their parents should have done a better job with raising them."
