Well it's almost father's day time so I need to get my Dad a present. After hearing my new PG RSd CS65 comps he has been mentioning multiple time how he owuld like to upgrade his speakers. He drives a 2004 Honda Element with the stock 7-speaker system. He listens mainly to rock. I would like to him a component set that will be a considerable upgrade from the stock speakers but would like to run it off the stock power. He really doesn't have too much room for amps so I will be using the stock power which is about 20 w rms. Please suggest some good components that will work well off this power.

Thanks!

price range?

I recommend the Pioneer Rev (Yellow Coned) Components. I have the 6x9 coaxils for rear fill. Those are pretty frekin nice speakers for that price.

You can get the 6.5" components for 160ish on ebay.

the REVs are very nice as well!!

note that components really dont shine unless hooked up to an amp, id suggest getting a small 2ch amp

you could always get some nice coaxils too, my 53 year old dad was blown away by his Premier Pioneer coaxils hahaha and he was very happy and sounded good enough for him and im sure your dad will prolly feel the same way, but hes getting a new car soon and i think he wants Focal coaxils that will be running off a Pioneer HU //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What are some good cheap 2 ch amps? I would need it to have a small footprint to fit under his front seats.

Pickup a Mtx 275X those are great amps to run components with, i have 2 and they work great for me.

Revs are great speakers i have a set in my kicks in my car, but another good set would be to try to find sum Fusion components * i know there low named but there a big step from stock * and there resonably priced i can prob get you a set for around $120 or so from the shop where im at , but im sure you can find them cheaper over the net.

GoodLuck

The RSds won't fit because their mounting depth is too deep and they don't work well with low power anyways. I guess I may just go with the Blaupunkt components that are made to run off of stock power. Crutchfield suggested Infinitys and claimed the stock amp is 2 ohm stable but I'm fairly sure its not.

the RSD's don't work off of low power? you mean HU power?

i was planning on sending a set 50W off an amp. I hope that's sufficient.

That will be fine. I have mine running off about 70 w rms. For my dad's car I only had about 20 w to work with though.
