Im finally getting a new phone.

mines in pieces.

Right now I have cingular, but i was thinking maybe it would be a good idea to switch up since cingular hides presents in my bills:crap:

Anyways, I was checking out the sony ericsson w350 in white...i think it looks pretty good, but I would like to get a phone with a descent camera in it...I dont like, but could probably be forced to get used to the qwerty keyboards...

anyways,

what carrier to you guys all prefer and what are some phones out there that are like the best of the best so to speak.

thanks for your time

I really like the LG Vu with AT&T and the LG Dare with Verizon. No personal experience with either one, but I'm looking at upgrading really soon and these are the ones I'm eyeing.

I like Alltel but I'm not sure how this merger will effect them. I like my LG Scoop. Great for texting, call clarity and reception is great, camera however is not great. No flash and slow shutter speed.

verizon has the best network in my opinion, nextel(sprint0 blows and always will, if i didnt use it for work i wouldnt have it. Its a shame sprint has such crappy service because the unlimited everything for 99.99 is an awesome deal.

the Vu and dare are practically the same thing, the Dare is a bit newer, better GUI, better camera.

It's basically the poor man's iphone. Music is ok, need an adapter use headphones. Doesn't play videos very well (like movies or tv shows). Camera is pretty good.

Texting is sub-standard, if your used to a good keyboard you will need to slow down...doesn't pick up correctly most of the time. No touchscreen keyboard is as good as a real one.

It's ok. I'd go for one with a real keyboard though...maybe wait awhile, the HTC Diamond Pro looks good, as does the new LG Prada (Vu in Europe) 2.

oh and btw, the Vu scratches very easily. Not the screen, but the back looks like shit after a few weeks. Just having it in your pocket scratches the shit out of it, so i'd assume even a case would put micro-scratches in it too.

The TV is eh. Channels blow. Don't show syndicated shows either. Commercials are lame as hell.

Does look sweet though. Stylish phone.

For a textile keyboard I'd look at the new Blackberry Bold, should be coming out soon too.

a 2 year contract though. Either way it will be verizon soon.
Alltel uses Verizon's network anyways. The only thing I'm worried about is when my Alltel contract is up, do I go month to month or am I forced to sign a contract with Verizon?

i think you'll get a month to month at the last contract you signed. That's what happened with cingular and AT&T for me.
