phoenix gold xenon 1200.1

Probably could have taken your time and found a better price, but I think it was reasonable. Someone was selling one for 225 shipped a week or so ago, but that amp is worth much more. Well worth $280 imo

Silver? They're all silver. The only exceptions are the ONYX Black ones. LE amps. There's no way of telling if yours had the "issue" unless you call PG and give them you serial number.

And yes the issue was real. First batch runs, hit or miss, would show up DOA.

he said he's the third owner, so I don't think it's one of those with the issue

second owner says he has no knowledge of it being sent in

you guys are starting to scare me. I have money order in envelope ready to send out today, but now youre freakin me out

Even if he did send it in for repair, why is that a bad thing? A tech went through it by hand, and individually repaired and adjusted the amp to spec. That would certainly give one more confidence than robotic/minimum wage assembly.

oh i thought the highest output was 1284rms.

well thats good then //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

At 2 ohms it MIGHT do 1400 wrms, but not at 4 ohms. Due to the whole "Xe." thing, they're in a sense regulated. Rated to do 1200 wrms by 1 from 1-4 ohms, but as the ohms drop it will go up, but it wont be drastic.

Shouldn't be scared to buy the amp. PG went out of their way to resolve the issue.

iirc , the test ive seen , they put out more power at 4 ohm rather than 1 ohm. the increase is nothing to 'wow' about , but it is there.
