Phoenix Gold Titanium or Diamond Audio d5?

I have 2 Diamond Audio D5 Amplifiers (1200.1 & 300.4), I really like the looks of the phoenix gold titanium amplifiers and my friend has a pair that hits nice and clean. I'm debating if I should trade my D5's or PG titaniums, should I? Would it be worth it?..For my next set up, I'll probably go with Diamond Audio d7's.

go with the diamonds.. they might be more money, but the sq is very nice and it will pay off
I think they have decided what to do within 10 months //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

IMO, it's not worth the upgrade.

So long as you set your gains properly, you're going to get the EXACT same sound outve your speakers. The Titaniums might give you a nicer noise floor, but that's about it.

You probably wouldnt notice to much, but the titaniums sure look nicer, and if its just a flat out trade, then I would jump on it. One thing to remember though. The titanium 1200.1 is a class ab amp, so it will draw tons of current.

Very well summed up.

Used to have some Diamond D5300.2 and the only clear advantage of those over the PG Ti/ZPA stuff is the onboard x-overs. VERY flexible if you want an active setup.

But yes, if it was a trade with no extra cash to pony up, I'd be ALL OVER that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif

I know a few folks who've had problems with blown FETs on the Diamond amps and based on my personal experience with PG stuff, never had a single reliability issue.

Ive sent a ton of the D5s back. (first gens) with overheating problems. Hardly ever sent PG Tis back. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Cosmetics...PG Ti > D5s.

Of course as stated...Im sure a decision has been made on this already..
