I've been wanting to upgrade my current stereo and was hoping for a little input on subwoofer selection. I'm not looking to enter any SPL comps or anything, this is just for my daily driver. I've had a pair of Audiobahns for years now and never quite understood why they sounded so poor. I had a store bought bandpass box that sounded pretty awful, and after I switched it out for a sealed box I noticed a huge improvement in SPL. Only drawback was I noticed the bass sounded a lot more boomy at certain frequencies. I found WinISD a few weeks ago and discovered it was my enclosure volume that made it sound boomy. Unfortunately I can only get the QTC under 1.0 if I ran a single sub in over a 4 ft^3 enclosure! So Ive made the decision to upgrade my subwoofers. I'm looking to run two 2 ohm DVC subs in a sealed box thats about 3.4 ft^3, with an amp pushing between 5-600 rms to each sub. I compared the Fosgate Punch 3, Hifonics Atlas, Cerwin Vega VMAX, and Phoenix Gold RSDC's. According to WinISD the Phoenix Gold has the best stats in my enclosure, so now I'm wondering about the quality of the subs. Does anyone on here run these? Thanks in advance.
