Phoenix Gold Octane quality?

They may not do exact power, but they do what power they make pretty well. I had the four channel version of that, and it's survived quite a bit of abuse.

What are you looking to power?

Right now I have 2 10" MTX 6000 subs but may get something else. The amp I am using to power my subs now is an older MTX blue thunder 150x2, but I am going to use that to power my new components which should be coming in soon.

Im not following what your trying to say, but if you are insisting that they wont do their rated power, then you are very wrong. Any and every pg amp does their rated power, and then some. End of story.

They are good bang for the buck amps, and they have proved themself very reliable. Not pgs best, but still decent.

Running a 15.0:1 in the GF's car at 1ohm, pushing a 15" Q and no problems with it at all and it's only rated to 2ohms. Tech support said it would run fine at 1ohm for daily, but they don't advertise it, so they don't have to warranty it. If you can get one for a decent price then I'd grab it...

I didn't mean the amps were overrated, my bad. I honestly can't complain about my R8.0:4. Great tuning versatility, and like towncar said, they can possibly do more power: I bridged two channels for my sub, and it never had a problem keeping up with any lows or any tempo, so I figure it was getting more than the rated 250rms. The sub was a Kicker CVR10, rated for 300rms.

Mine survived me accidentally nuking the fuses. I hooked up the ground/positive leads in the wrong places, when I went to touch the "ground", shorted out and destroyed the fuses.Popped new fuses in, corrected my mistake, powered right back on.

Mine never overheated, even running at the safest lowest impedance*bridged channels 1 and 2 and 3 and 4*. Great build quality too.
