Used Phoenix Gold Isolater

As you will see in the photo, this unit has a very small nick on the left front corner. This unit works! I used it to isolate the dual batteries in my last car. This unit is very clean.

I am willing to accept the best 'reasonable' offer!

Questions and offers are welcome!

Kind Regards,

This unit allows the charge from the alternator to be split off to two batteries.

In my last car, one battery was for the car and the other was for the stereo.

The isolator ensures that both batteries get a charge and keeps the alternator from burning up due to a possible overload on the charging system because of the two batteries.

Hope this helps...

Jeremy,

It really depends on how you intend to listen to your system and how many amps the system will use. Unless you are building a competition level system, the isolator is not normally needed.

However, if you want to go to the park and crank up the system for a while, a secondary battery is not a bad idea. I used an Optima Dry Cell battery for my system. Once the isolator was installed, there was no more dimming headlights or dead battery after 15 minutes of high volume playing when the car was not running.

My last car had a stock alternator, but I think it was around 110, not 80.

Regards,

john
