PG TI's or Xenon

I'm debating between these two amp lines for my next two amps. I've read a fair bit of information on the Xenon's, but next to nothing on the TI's. Does anyone have any experience with that particular line of amps? Thanks! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Ti's for sure... outstanding amplifiers. I love my Ti400.2 -- stable to 1-ohm stereo or 2-ohms bridged (although power does not increase below 2-ohm stereo or 4-ohm bridged).

The Ti's were manufactured in Portland, OR... while the Xenon's were manufactured overseas (not that there's anything wrong with that). The Xenon's are nice, too... but if you can get Ti's for the same price, go that route.

The Ti's are going to be a bit more expensive than the xenons, but I may also be able to score a matching eq.

From speaking with multiple Phoenix Gold techs, they have assured me that the Xenon series is electronically superior and should offer better sq. They did admit however that the Xenon units, especially earlier batches, suffered more dependability issues. Used xenon amps are a steal- top notch sq. I am running a xenon 100.2, 100.4, and 600.1 in my two active system and have been very satisfied and had no problems.

I like the Xenons, as well. They are a supposedly better version loosely based off of the Ti's, IIRC.

The Xenon's wiring flexibility is pretty cool, too.

Yeah I also heard that the xenons had a few problems and if you have a problem with one you can't get it repaired because I guess a few of the parts aren't produced anymore.

Hmm..good info. Also seems to match up with what I got on phoenixphorum. I'll be honest, the only issue I have really with the xenon is the looks....kind of a strange amp. But thats not enough to keep me from running them by any means. I'll see how things play out over the next few days. Thanks for the answers! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The guts of the Xenons look pretty nice. Plexi FTW

That they do. I have a blown one here, and it's pretty sweet. Bad part is the amps kinda a weird shape, the top comes off, not the bottom. So I'm at a loss as to how I would do the plexi. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I know I've seen it done before. Shouldn't be that hard to figure out.

That is false info. The xenons can still easily be repaired.. It's the tantrum line that cant be fixed if the chip goes out...

Great amps! Both of them. Realize that the Xenon is a Class D, and TI is A/B.

TI is a power hog. I have a TI900.7 and TI 1200.1 and had them in an install. And believe me....Dimming lights....and such even with an Yellow top battery, Big 3, and a TI 15 Farad Power core.

Switched out my amp to an Autotek MM3000.1 and changed my subs around a bit and needed the extra power, now no dimming lights. (removed the TI 1200.1)

Xenon didn't have that issue either. but to go with my All TI install, I had to use my TI 1200.1 back then! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
