I just got a phoenix gold 600.1 to power my D2 rl-p 15. I read somewhere that it the amp puts out the most power at 4 ohms, is this true?

That series puts out the same power at 4, 2, or 1.

Indeed, you can. But I don't know how. Maybe Zfactor will chime in.

yeah, i think in it's stock configuration it will do slightly more power at 4 ohms (maybe 50W at most), but no matter what load you run it at, it should do around 800W or just over.

the mod only works for 2 ohm loads, and bypasses the protection circuitry (bad), but can get you a lot more power. it is not recommended by pg and obviously voids your warranty if you blow your amp in the process, but it involves powering up the amp with no load attached and then hooking up the subs, so it will output true 2 ohms power levels. this can be done with a relay or manual switch.

Yea i probably won't be modding it. But i just might wire my sub to 4 ohms. I live in Duluth, nice to see another minnesotan on here.
