PEI vs Aluminum Dome Tweeters

I am looking to purchase some Rockford Fosgate Punch components later this week after I get an amp sold a couple other odds and ends. I have it down between 2 models, but the only thing I cannot decide on is which tweeter is better.

One has a 1" PEI Dome Tweeter and the other has a 3/4" Aluminum Dome Tweeter.

Would the 1" PEI put out enough more output or cleaner sound to justify spending $20 more?

BTW Both will be getting the same power, 50W RMS

IMO, metal dome tweets *can* sound harsh if not installed and tuned correctly. But when installed and tuned correctly, they can be VERY accurate sounding.

For me, I like the silkies and ribbons. IMO, smoother and less fatiguing.

If I were to go with a metal dome, IMO, I would go with titanium if at all possible..

There are a lot better options than Rockford components. They are loud, I will give them that, but they are also harsh and not musical at all. Have a friend that has T3 components and the tweeters are just insanely louder than everything, even with them attenuated to -3db, and very harsh and raspy sounding, especially with rock music.

I personally have a set of P1 tweeters and it's pretty much the same deal with them. They aren't as loud, but they have the same dead sound. They are really only good for hi-hats, and things that "sizzle", but other things like bells and guitar plucks and the like just are not there.

I've got a set on the way for my van which needs loud, my Ranger on the other hand only has one 10" Sub (Soon to be a 10W3V3). What set of components would you all recommend? I would prefer a decent name brand. Like I said I have a 50W x 2 Rockford Amp to push them with.

6.5 or 5.25 will work with adapter plates. Also under $100 if possible.

fosgate speakers **** for anyone who likes to listen to music, there are alot of other good options for nice stuff if you can step your budget up alittle more. The front stage in one thing you don't want to skimp on if you don't have to. You could always save up for a nice pair.

That being said these sound very good and are close to your price range.
