Peel and Seel

Dude,we get it. You are the supreme being in car audio, However,
The orignal poster was searching for a cost effective way to accomplish some level of sound damping the panels in his car. What is wrong with helping him explore those options. Not everyone can,or may not have the desire to, purchase the most expensive stuff out there just because some markedting department says we should. It has already been posted that some of the original products marketed as damping materials were susspected of being nothing more than roofing materials, and that questions about the product are still answered vaguely. Any weight added to a panel will change its resonant frequency. That was the original concept for soud deadening products.
Dude, get out of here period.

I'm not talking about some over-priced...over-marketed bullshit.

Check out http://www.secondskinaudio.com

Ant, (Anthony Collova) the owner started like us. He STARTED here on caraudio.com forums. He's a great guy, and offers discounts to forum members. I'm just saying for slightly more, you get a product that is worlds better.

He's also the most knowledgeable guy I've ever come across as far as Sound deadening/dampening material goes. He doesn't tout his product arund like it's god's gift either. He'll tell you straight up what works and what doesn't, and what would work best in your application.

Check out the website, and look at b-stock specials page. Damplifier, and spectrum are great...I recommend picking up a gallon or two of spectrum. Two gallons can EASILY and thoroughly do 4doors of a car, and the trunk. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

So, just explore all the options...it'll do a better job too.

i can get dynamat extream for cheaper then i can get secondskin... otherwise i'd use that stuff. anyway if i were you i'd use the real stuff, if you order it online you'll find out your not going to save too much on p&s

See the real problem is.

Silver is too young and does not have a credit card and can not purchase deadener from dealers online, or ebay even...

and since he can only pay retail for deadener and does not want to wait until he can afford car audio sound deadener he is desperate for another solution that is just slightly cheaper.

I love how one of you said "Whats so good about a product that may stick stronger and is thicker"

hahhahah.

I didn't own a credit card until this summer, and that never stopped me from ordering on Ebay...in fact, I've never used my card for online purchases. I use Paypal for the smaller stuff and money orders or my checking account for stuff over $100, usually.

I'm just assuming. I didnt realize how easy it is to get a verified ebay/paypal account without a CC.. But i guess now they do a phonecall check and they actually transfer in and out a few cents from yer account to verify it...

You can't get an Ebay seller's account without a CC. But for a buyer's account, you don't need one...and for Paypal verification, they simply require a checking account. They don't even make a phone call.

Maybe I didn't phrase that right, or you misinterpreted it;

I'm sorry, was that difficult to comprehend?

"I think it works fine, and I can't see how one product, aside from possibly being 'more sticky' and heavier could be any better than another."

---

Deadener is heavy and sticky.

If one deadener is heavier and stickier than another, then it's better.

Other than that, why debate? PNS is heavy and sticky, like dynamat, ss, and [other deadeners].

---

So, if you can think of any reasons why Dynamat is 'better' than Peel 'n Seal, aside from it's thickness, or the quality of the adhesive, then do enlighten us all.

Mabey someone should do a Richard Clark type blind test. Five cars with dynamat and five with alternative materials. How many people do you think would be able to listen to the cars and tell the difference?

i just got done installing dynamat for a few hours.... all i have to say right now is i wish i got liquid deadliner... this was such a pain in the ***
I guess the question is, "How does it sound now?" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif im just ready to get my car deadened, and wondering about dynamat extreme.

STFU, I have a credit card. I am old enough. What is wrong with finding a solution that is cheaper and works?

Get out of my topic you piece of shit. Go put on some makeup and a wig, some fake tittays and go pick up some dudes in your V6 stang...

Easy bro. Don't let him get to you. He's what we call an agitator, he only posts to piss off as many people as he can. So just ignore his posts.......I know I do. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Where the f can I get this crap. I went to **** depot and I asked three different retards about it and they all gave me a confused look. I explained them what it was, who it was made by and all that crap.

You guys know where I can get this stuff? Thanks.
Do a search on this forum. I've explained it many times here. Not all stores carry the P&S brand but they ALL have something equivalent.

P.S. There are some fine *** chicks that work at home depot. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
*gag* you should see the bow wow's that work at my HD.

blah blah blah...

stop acting like a bunch off cheese kunts

dapmer is damper and anything will work.

even adding a pile of camel turds on the trunk lid will help.

however!!!

some mats are toxic and casue headaches.

some mats melt and fall off, oozing black tar on your amps, subs, and upholstery.

some mats require 3 layers to equal one of a real damper..

how sticky a product is has nothing to do with how well it will adhere long term.

all has to do with the heat tolerance which is why asphalt mats are less than desireable..

adding mass is only one part of the deal. constraint layer dampers reduce vibrations by CONVERTING THE ENERGY IN TO HEAT. the added weight helps lower the panels resonant frequency, but there is more too it than adding weight, dispite what other ignorant rebadgers tell you... there is science involved in this..

Thank you everyone that has mentioned secondskin. I always appreciate your kind words, support and loyalty.

for anyone else that wants more info on sound deadening and what product to use, and not to useclick here
