I am tring to help out a friend to stop a few rattles in his trunk.

The cheapest way i could think of was to use peel and seal but All the hardware stores around me dont have a clue what I am talking about.

They only have a self-adhesive membrane with a red or white backing none with the

aluminum backing.

I have tried

Kent

Home hardware

home depot

ect....

So my questions is does it have to have the aluminum backing? or will the stuff with a red or white backing do the same thing?

well what i just used myself for finals is gutter repair tape, its from home depot if you clean the area and use a roller to help adhere it to the surface it will be fine, i live in florida and its hot here and its been up for 2 weeks on my roof and nothing has tried or began to fall as of yet

where you will find this stuff is homedepot, the roofing dept just walk up and down the isle slowly and look for 6 inch rolls of stuff or tell them you need gutter repair tape ill tryn find a homedepot link for it

Honestly, for the price, spent a hint more and get Raamat. If you do it right the first time you won't have to rip it out and do it over later on. Trust me as a user of P&S, it's something you'll just pull out and redo in the future.

peal and seal is the Lowes brand name. At Home depot they sell the exact same stuff but it is called something else. I just can't remember what. This is a very common practice with them. It allows them to be the exclusive seller of a brand name. They don't care if it is relabled and sold elsewhere as long as the packaging is completely different.

Peel and Seal is not worth the hassle. I have installed it and had it stay on for 5 years with proper installation, but it's more of a pain than it's worth. I started using Butyl mat on my new car, Edead V1SE(2) and Damplifier, and I won't ever use Peel and Seal again.
