I just picked up two 12w6v2 subs recently and i've narrowed down my amp options to these two. Feel free to suggest a different amp but i'm not looking to spend more than $600. I have heard that these amps are about as big of rms as you can have on these subs and may even have to turn the amp down but this is what i'm going for or something similar.

So the question is what amp would hit harder or be your guys' reccomendation for these subs.

Thanks in advance!

pretty sure there is way better for way cheaper. unless your stuck on just those 2 and no matter what people tell you, your still gonna get one of them, go with the jl.

never had alpie, but ive had jl amps and i like em. but on the other hand, they cant be dropped to 1 ohm.

okay...what is THE MOST you would push these two subs at rms? and no im not stuck on either of them i'm just saying that those 2 are ones that will push 1000 rms no matter what ohm u put them at and both seem to underrate their equipment

if you guys have a better suggestion for an amp on these subs please post a link to it if possible it would be appreciated

i'm hoping that i can get at least 1000 rms out of them but i really dont know

thanks everyone ur helpin a lot

yes, but u cant drop a jl amp to 1 ohm so if u wanna run ur subs at 1 ohm, good luck doin it with the jl amp.

if u wanna do it, id go with the alpine, but personally, i wouldnt go with either of em. for the money ull spend, u get at least 2 of some other amps, that r better

I hate to be a jerk here, but which amplifier is better for way cheaper? Find me a BETTER Class D amp that produces 1,000 watts RMS @ 4 ohms for less $$ than the JL Audio 1000/1.

The jl1000/1 WILL run at 1 ohm its rated for it, i have done it. Its going to see 1.5 ohm anyway from rise
Are you sure about this? I was told that RIPS will make the amplifier fire up in protect if it detects a load lower than 1.5 ohms. Then again, it wouldn't be the first time this particular JL Audio dealer was wrong about their own dang product.

$1100 retail for the JL which is super flexible. The PDX is really nice due to its size. The Sundown 1500D on special for $400 is a stupid deal right now IMO. there are plenty of choices out there

well since the jl is retailing at $1000

aq3500 will do 1k at 4ohm and is only 699 shipped new.

it also does 3500at 1ohm

Theres the new 3250 RD amps on caco going for like 425$ shipped on the presale right now i believe. cheaper than a JL, and should do the same or more wattage around 4 ohms and if you ever upgrade youve got all the power you need. Otherwise look into something like a used SAZ-1500 maybe? or a 1200D or the AQ1200s are really good pricewise for the power/reliability you get.

^This. Since JL slaps rediculously high prices on all their products you can get 3-4k rms amps that'll do the same as a JL at 4 ohm for a fraction of the cost, dont see why anyone would go with a JL after looking at their options

I can get a 1000/1 cheaper than that, BNIB and authorized, but thank you for playing!

I pity those who pay MSRP for ANYTHING, especially 12 volt electronics!
