Pc Security..What Would You Pick?

Well got my computerback. Virus destroyed old HD. Brand new 180GB HD. Well now I need to get a new security program. (antivirus, firewall, antispyware..all the works)

Ive had norton on last two computers and have STILL gotten crap so..

What do you think?

"Pc chillin" is pretty decent, but I still had viruses get through it. I prefer the McAfee Security center. Firewall, spam protection, virus scan & privacy service. Norton suxs!

I use Trend Micro's software, I think it's PC-Cillin, from time to time, it's never failed me...

I second MCAfee as well had retarded slow your computer and system resouces norton for a long time McAfee kicks its butt....If you have comcast, or charter cable you can get it free! Also many other do it so look around

stop sufring pr0n0 and downloading warez, especially filesharing like limewire... also be mindful of the apps you install.

i use a freebie symantec antivirus and i'm just behind a home router firewall. haven't been infected for almost two years now, and my computer runs emule and folding@home 24/7

Correctly using a computer alone will not keep people from hacking into your computer and planting viruses. I would also like to add, do not tick little kids on these forums off, because they will try to hack into your computer and end up screwing your DSL modem, or your wireless router up thinking that it's your computer, lol ...not mentioning names, but it happened to me the other day.

I use ewido and/or kaspersky. Two best Ive ever used. Kaspersky seems to find more tho. Ewido finds a lot of spyware pretty good tho.

if that happened to you, i daresay you were doing things you shouldnt have been doing. i have connections as well.

and if some little kid is bored enough to try to hack into my computer to find all of my digital camrea pictures, or try to plant a virus, he needs to get off his computer and try to get some socialization in.

and on a second note, i dont have dsl and i dont use a wireless router. as long as you arent downloading porn\warez or music, and you arent doing things you shouldnt be doing - i can be confident in saying you will not get any viruii.

How do you know you don't have any viruses if you dont have a scanner. I had viruses on my comp without knowing it.

That kid was prolly just trying to get me offline so I would stop flaming him because he was getting verbally beat down.

I would aslo like to add that you can still get a virus while you are not doing anything, as long as you are connected to the internet, you are vulnerable. Some ISP's offer a firewall built into thier service, that could be one reason you do not get viruses. I like to be safe and have Mcaffee running.

lets see..I dont DL porn. I dont use LimeWire, Kazaa, BearShare. My bro tries to though. My HD got destroyed when he came home for Xmas. I scanned the HD everyday...same **** everyday.
