Pay "Pal'

Imagine that, a company only worried about profit. My mind has been blown...

that being said, I've never had a problem with paypal but I usually only buy through companies, and rarely sell.

Okay, so I have a question for a friend(seriously, it's not me). Seriously.

Say you have a Paypal account, and you sell someone an amplifier in perfect working order for $300. Once the buyer gets the amplifier, he does something to break it, and blames it on you. Because the package wasn't damaged, you can't fight with the delivery service, and PayPal will most likely side with the buyer as long as he ships the amp back to you.

Now, let's say that you don't want this to happen. So, after the claim has already been filed, you decide to withdraw all of your money in PP, put it into your bank, and close your account. What will happen to the claim, and could you be held legally responsible for your action?

I repeat, this isn't for me.

I had this happen twice when I sold amps on ebay, there is no way as a seller to protect yourself paypal always sides with the buyer and locks/holds your money until positive feedback is left, also there linked to your bank account through your debit card.

I used to like selling on forums since ebay charges so much, but Im sick of all the buying scammers. The ones that already own a broken version of what you sold them, who then turn around and say thats what you sold them...or the ones that break something then try to claim thats how it was sent...just tired of it.

No problems with paypal though...

By the way, this hypothetical situation has already happened. Different equipment, but the outcome was the same. A friend closed his PayPal account with the hope that they couldn't take money from his account if they sided with the buyer.

Well what happened to you, I never also had a problem with paypal.
man ive had them limit my account due to "suspicious activity" as they put it. This suspicious activity was me using my account to buy stuff and sell occasionally. I guess people using their accounts is suspicious to them. Had my cash frozen for 6 months. Thats just one of the reasons I dont use them anymore. They can hold your cash for ANY reason they see fit for up to 6 months. Hmmmm, wonder why they would want to?.....my small amount of cash may not have added up to much interest but when its done to thousands upon thousands of people with balancing ranging from 1.00 to 500,000 or more it adds up REALLY quick.
