the old guitarist in the band im in played a 7 string PRS

its was pretty **** nice and sounded great

he switched to an ibanez xiphos

its ****ing incredible

esp or ibanez would probably be your best bet...or possibly a fernandes...i personally use esp because ibanez necks are too thin for my hands and esp's price is great for the quality

to those who say a life of just powerchords have obviously not heard the music from these bands.

and prs is not anywhere near crap. one of the best made guitars out there.

I haven't played in years and I can't bring myself to sell my IC-350 with EMG 81's.

Used to play it in dropped c#, lol. I love that guitar. I need to get a **** acoustic already and get back into playing.

I was thinking that. Children of Bodom is far from just powerchords. Off the top of my head I can't think of one guitarist that uses PRS. I see ESP and Schecter becoming the guitar of choice for metal.

I'm not saying PRS isn't a great guitar because it is pretty top notch. However, even if I was famous and played in a band, I would not have a PRS. I would pick up an Ibanez most liekly.

I personally agree with everyone else about picking up an ibanez or esp. You could also look into Hamer or Fernandes, not sure if those were mentioned, but imo a PRS shouldn't be limited to just playing metal and thrash.
