Yesterday, I passed the Managing and Maintaining a Windows Server 2003 Environment (70-290) Exam! One certification under my belt towards MCSA. Next up is Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure (70-291) and then after that will be the Vista (70-620) exam as an elective. I am dragging my feet on Windows XP (70-270) because I hear it is really hard so more study time is needed.

I'm taking the microsoft class for that one next month, along with the AD one
Yeah, I have taken all of the classes for it, but just now getting to the certs. Nobody else in my class has the certs either though, so I dont feel bad. At least I am starting to get mine.

yea, I finish my undergrad degree ( CIS ) this semester, then I am going to get my certs ASAP before I go on to grad school..

I'll have my Associates of Applied Science in Computer Networking in 2 weeks. Im just gonna stick with that and get my certs, see what comes my way. If I feel like I need to, I will go on to a Bachelors, but unfortunately my credits don't xfer to any other local colleges so I would basically have to re-start.

With CS, as long as your happy doing the tech work the associates + certs is all you really need. I have different goals than working on computers hands on forever, which is why I chose the B.S. + grad school with certs in the middle.

Wow, so I see that Microsoft is still ******* the $ out of people for these certifications. They sure are a good money grab. Frankly, they should be paying the people to take these silly exams and not the other way around.

Ill be getting my cisco networking mini-cert in about 4 weeks which is CCNA 1 through 4. I didnt bother to get the actual certification but I have taken the classes.
Same with me. No cert will be taken for CISCO, but my degree classes contain Server 03 and CISCO mainly, along with XP, UNIX, LINUX, Wireless, security, A+, etc.

70-270 isn't hard at all IMO. 70-294 was stupid as hell, only cert exam I've failed in my life, but that's for MCSE anyways. Like whats his face said above, bach + grad school is the way to go if you don't want to be working on physical equipment for the next, well while. I personally like to work with my hands and love doing this kind of work. Don't worry about the 70-270 as long as you know how to work windows n shit. Its not that bad (got a 944 on it). Good luck with the tests bud
